Our Inspiration
In the summer of 2008, we took a 3000-mile road trip up the western coast of the United States to Vancouver, Canada. From there we drove east to Banff and down through Montana, Idaho, and Nevada back to Southern California where we live. We were on the road for exactly thirty nights and thirty-one days. Along the way, we camped, hiked, shopped at local markets, and visited friends and family. While we didn't know it at the time, this trip would bring us closer to each other, solidifying our bond and commitment to one another, and plant the seed that would grow and flourish into Liquid Jade Tea.
We are Robert and Ellie, two tea-lovers who share a passion for the beauty and wonder that is born of our unique and life-giving planet.
On our road trip, we visited Robert's aunt, Nancy, on Bainbridge Island. Nancy cooked us meals with vegetables she picked from her own garden and served us a chai that she created with her own favorite ingredients. Nancy's chai was delicious, flavorful, and full-bodied. All the ingredients she used were organic and whole leaf. The taste and memory of her tea remained with us for the duration of our trip and shortly after returning, we began to look into ordering our own organic whole leaf ingredients to make our own concoctions.
Our Vision
Our vision was simple: To create our favorite tea blends using the highest quality organic and fair trade ingredients we could find.
We fell in love with our own tea blends. But beyond this, our families fell in love with our teas. Our friends began to ask us for tea, then more tea, then still more. Since we needed to order many of our ingredients in bulk, we had more than enough to share. Then one day, as we were buying fresh fruits and vegetables at our local farmer's market, the thought popped into our heads: "What if we could sell our teas at the farmer's market?"
Within the course of the following few weeks, we registered a business, began making our teas in a health certified kitchen rather than our own, and got insured.
Our Mission
As we continue to expand our business, our mission remains the same: To create delicious tea blends using the highest quality organic and fair trade ingredients we can find.
We made a conscious choice against packaging our teas in individual tea bags. This is because tea that is prepared with whole leaves, as it is traditionally done, has a fuller superior taste. Additionally, we want to avoid the waste created by individual tea bags. We only have one planet and every little bit we do to help it be healthier, will directly influence our own qualities of life in the long run.

Quality of our Ingredients
The quality of the ingredients directly affects the flavor and benefits or your tea. For this reason we choose only organic and fair-trade ingredients. We try to also buy local from organic and responsible farmers as often as we can.
Quality of our Blends
We put a lot of thought into our blends. Every blend is created with the end user in mind. Many of our blends are inspired by our customers, friends, and family members.
Quality of our Service
Personalized and fast service is what we look for when we shop. It is important to us that every one of our customers feels well taken care of. We want you to feel like you are our only client. We want you to contact us, ask us questions, send us your feedback, and feel like we care about you, your wellbeing, and your input. |
